Special Issue:
Thin film materials in energy conversion and storage: past, present and future

Brief Overview:
Energy demand from sources that can be replenished have drawn much research interest due to less environmental impact and maximum energy. The materials needed to attain this should be easily available and exhibit better efficiency. With respect to this, thin film materials can satisfy the demand.

This research field of thin films has undergone intensive development and applications in energy conversion and storage with high turnover output. Furthermore, substantial efforts are being made in improving films quality for good device performance for future practical applications, while there is also a concern of defects that causes flexibility, and durability challenges. Good film quality with excellent optoelectronic and structural properties are highly desired. It is believed that low-cost, eco-friendly energy conversion and storage devices will be developed in future research.

This special issue is focused on the collection of recent and ongoing scientific research regarding thin film materials for energy conversion and storage. We welcome original full length papers, both theoretical and experimental, as well as review papers and short communications addressing this concerned topic.

Scope of the Special Issue:
Manuscripts can be related to any aspect of the following (but not limited to): Thin films, Solar cells, Batteries, Supercapacitors, Perovskite Nanocrystals

Manuscript Submission Information:
Manuscripts should be submitted online via the submission portal after a successful user registration. All submissions that pass pre-check will be sent out for peer-review. Accepted papers will be published on an ongoing basis and will be listed together on the special issue website. Full length papers, review articles as well as short communications are invited. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, or under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts are available.
